Speed build - Airfix 1/48 P-51 Mustang "Dooleybird"

Part 3/3

Propeller

Sun 11:35am - Humbrol 25 Blue did not match the blue in the decal.

I chose to re-paint this using Vallejo Model Color Intense Blue (seen in the background)

Propeller spinner painted

Sun 11:48am - The Intense Blue matched better.

Deadline!

Sun 12:00pm - Despite my best efforts, this was all I could do by the 12pm deadline.

Canopy unmasked

Sun 12:59pm - Pressing on. Let's see how much more I can do before the 2pm deadline for photo submissions.

I sliced along the canopy frame before peeling off the mask. This gave a clean separation line.

Cockpit lip

Sun 1:07pm - Part of the cockpit lip was obscured by the canopy. This will be painted with Interior Green.

Sun 1:10pm - More brush painting.

All done!

Sun 1:19pm - With the exception of tiny decal stencils and a panel line wash, I stopped here to take the photographs for submission.
