Page 1 of 3 This is a series of photographs to compare both the Hasegawa & Kinetic F-16D kit. It's a little unfair in some ways since the Hasegawa kit is NOT the Block 50 F-16DJ but rather, a Block 30 kit, whereas the Kinetic kit is a Block 50 F-16. However, much of that is pretty irrelevant since I shall also explain why so in this photo comparison. To make it easier for you readers, the first post contains the Kinetic kit while the second set of pics are for the Hasegawa kit. First the packaging. Kinetic has very thoughtfully kept the sprues as separate as possible. There are no more than 4 sprues in one bag and those are the 4 identical sprues. In total, Kinetic gives you 23 sprues to make a 1/48 F-16D. Even the clear parts are kept in a separate bag. Well packed! Good job there from Kinetic.
Hasegawa packs ALL the sprues into one sealed bag, with the canopy together with the other plastic parts, UNBAGGED! Maybe ten years ago that would be acceptable but in this day and age when even Tamiya bags their clear parts separately, this is really quite unacceptable. Then again, to be fair, this particular boxing from Hasegawa is around 15 years old but I am sure my kit isn't of the first molding since I purchased it only a year or two back and the decals then were still fresh.
